Scavenger Hunt
Things have been a little quiet around here recently, so I thought I'd try to liven the place up a bit with some Scavenger Hunt screencaps. It's a terrible film, but it's got some good people in the cast. One of whom, of course, is Dirk Benedict.

For anybody who doesn't know, Scavenger Hunt is the story of a group of people who all find themselves at the reading of the will of an eccentric multimillionaire (Vincent Price, very briefly). The terms of the will state that they have to go on a bizarre scavenger hunt, and the winner will inherit everything. There are precious few rules, and leading the hunt are some evil relatives and their evil lawyer. Dirk plays Jeff, a master procurer (naturally!), who does the hunt accompanied by his younger brother Kenny, and their evil aunt's rather less evil step-daughter, Lisa.

At the will-reading, with younger brother Kenny.

On hearing the terms of the will. The rest of the cast all flip out, but the brothers are quite splendidly laid back about the whole thing. You get the impression they get sent on mad quests by odd relatives all the time.

Hurry up and pull the damn clown's head off!

Just a drive-in clown, though. Sadly.

Jeff spots another item from their list...

... A large man named Dwayne, who Kenny has to persuade to be kidnapped for the afternoon.

Laughing gas. In no way can I see any opportunity for this to go badly wrong.

With Dwayne in the back of the van.

With un-evil step-cousin Lisa.

Random Roddy McDowall.

One bullet-proof vest later...

Hello.

Some laughing gas has escaped. Well gosh, I never saw that one coming. ;)

Pulled over for driving whilst giggling.

The policeman thinks he's got the situation under control, but he's reckoned against the laughing gas.

One policeman's uniform later...

With an ostrich and a teddy bear.

And a swordfish.

In the changing rooms of a football team, in an attempt to kidnap a helmet. Half-time came unexpectedly. I love the optimism in the attempt to hold the door shut against an entire team!

With Kenny, Lisa, assorted evil relatives, and a policeman covered in lemon meringue pie.

Cheated by the evil relatives. Temporarily.

Beginning to plot with another team.

All the other teams decide to throw in with Jeff and Kenny, so that the evil relatives won't win. A turkey thoughtfully lends its support.

Having won, the gang decide to share the inheritance with just about everybody present who isn't an evil relative. Hooray!

Thanks for those. Dirk looks lovely. :D I just checked it out on IMDB. What a cast that movie had! Crazy!

It's a remarkable cast, yes. Roddy McD is always worth watching of course, although he's mostly just revisitng Bullwhip Griffin in this one. Vincent Price isn't really around long enough to notice, but it's always nice to see him.

Oh thanks. Another film I want to see :D Yes, we have been quiet over here. JFM and I should mention we've seen Dirk recently playing Columbo in our theatres... it's been touring the country. I saw him in Plymouth, this Thursday gone, and he still looked gorgeous at 65 :D ::Sigh::

He's touring over here? Cool. I know he's always been a bit of an Anglophile, but I did think maybe Big Brother had scared him off. :D

I think Plymouth may have been the last tour. Can't remember now. But yeah, I think it was touring since about May.

Plymouth was only a 2 hour drive, and it was sooooo worth it. I wasn't quite brave enough to go hang out at the back stage door, but I'm happy that I've seen him in the flesh, even if it was from afar... well, four rows from the front :D (I had a good view :-p)

Yeah, Plymouth was the last one! I'm wondering if he'll stay in the UK for a bit as Roland is playing for Man City. ???
